I have returned?

And I'm back!.. but what's that? You didn't know I was gone? Well, that was kinda the point =P. I was away on a trip to another state and I had limited access to the internet (and I was busy enjoying the trip, of course). ^_^

But now, with my return home, I can finally get back into the full swing of updating the missing sections of my website and complete this masterpiece!... is what I was originally going to write, but then some things happened while I was gone that I need to attend to...

New Distractions Released!

While I was on my trip, two new games dropped on Steam that I had to play... Well, one new and the other getting an official 1.0 release!

I've owned Satisfactory for quite some time now (since it first launched on Steam, back in June of 2020) and I have played it on and off many times since then... but roughly around update 6, I've decided to purposely hold off touching it so I could experience the title in all it's finalized glory.. and with it reaching version 1.0, I am back to putting countless hours into a new factory (I'm starting over from the ground up to appreciate the full experience).

UFO 50, on the other hand, was quite a recent discovery for me (I think one of my friends wishlisted it, which brought it to my attention) which I immediately added to my 'must buy now' list (not to be confused with my steam wishlist, which I mostly use to keep track of titles I'm interested in). But anyway, I've always been a sucker for retro style games (I grew up in the 80s and 90s) and this compilation had me really excited to 'relive that era' so they say, but now with all new titles! Of those titles (I've played ~8 of the 50 at this point), I am impressed with the selection, scale and attention to detail (as far as hitting that retro vibe). It does feel like I'm playing entirely new, fully featured, games from that time period. It kinda reminds me a lot of the game Last Call BBS, but geared toward a more console experience (vs a retro PC experience).

So when I'm taking breaks from my factory, I'll be playing some new retro games... which means this website isn't going to be getting the love that it probably should be getting for the next few days (sorry everyone!). I still plan to post log updates periodically (which will probably contain captures of my adventures in these titles), but the pages that are 404 will probably remain that way for a bit longer...

By the way, if you're wondering how I got the Steam game library art for the games above, I went over to SteamDB, searched for the games I was interested in, then in the Metadata menu for each game, I scrolled down to the Assets section and downloaded the desired images from there (in my case, the library 600x900 images). Mostly writing this down for future me as a reference, but figured there may be others out there that would also like to know.
